Military Exercise Platinum Wolf 25: Montenegro and 10 Countries in Combat Cooperation in Serbia
Did you know that one of the biggest military exercises in the region is currently taking place in Serbia? The military exercise “Platinum Wolf 25” has gathered around 11 countries, including Montenegro, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Romania, North Macedonia, the USA, the United Kingdom, and Serbia as the host.
This international military exercise is not just a parade of armed forces. It is a serious test of interoperability and strengthening cooperation among allied and partner countries. Members of the Montenegrin Army, especially the military police company and the military medical center, actively participated in securing bases, convoys, patrolling, blockades, terrain searches, and conducting combat operations in urban environments.
The medical part of the exercise was under the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF), where Montenegrin medics practiced providing aid to the wounded on the battlefield and in natural disasters. The goal was to improve interoperability levels and achieve operational capabilities for the next hospital certification planned for October this year.
During the exercise, a sports day was held where soldiers from 11 countries competed in various sports disciplines. The Montenegrin military police company took first place in basketball, boosting morale and showing their readiness and team spirit.
The “Platinum Wolf” exercise has been held since 2017, and Montenegro is participating for the fourth time. This exercise is much more than a military demonstration – it is a platform for exchanging experiences, improving tactics and techniques, and building trust among countries that were once in conflict but now work together for peace and stability in the region.
Do you think such exercises send the right message about regional cooperation, or are they just another opportunity for military parades? Share your thoughts, maybe with a bit of humor – who knows, maybe one of the soldiers will read and have a laugh!
