Milorad Dodik on Universities and Sanctions: Fortresses of the Future or Political Victims?

Universities as Fortresses of the Future? Milorad Dodik Has Something to Say!

Every university should be a fortress of the future, free and independent, declared the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik. But he didn’t stop there – Dodik openly criticized sanctions that, according to him, were deliberately imposed by the former US administration and have led to the collapse of companies and loss of jobs.

Universities – Fortresses or Victims?

Dodik, during the presentation of key information about enrollment for the first cycle of studies and investments in the development of the University of Banja Luka, emphasized that investing in education is crucial for the future. “It’s not easy today, we face many problems, but we have never neglected our obligations towards universities,” he said. He congratulated on the successful academic year and expressed optimism for the next one.

Sanctions That Hurt

However, Dodik did not miss the opportunity to condemn sanctions imposed on officials of Republika Srpska. “Many people have suffered torture, many companies have collapsed, jobs lost – it’s not a coincidence,” Dodik said. He believes the sanctions were deliberately aimed at weakening Republika Srpska.

IT Jobs Transferred to Federation of BiH

Another bombshell – Dodik pointed out the problem of transferring IT sector jobs to companies in the Federation of BiH, while companies from Republika Srpska do not have the same opportunities. “We notice that companies from FBiH are expanding their business here, while no company from RS can make a business move in FBiH,” Dodik said and announced that the National Assembly of RS will consider amendments to the law on internal payment transactions.

What Does This Mean?

It’s clear that Dodik sees universities as key pillars of the future but also as victims of a broader political game. Sanctions and economic barriers are not just numbers on paper – they affect people, businesses, and development. Will the situation change? Time will tell.

Is This Just Political Rhetoric or a Real Problem?

Dodik’s statement sheds light on serious problems facing Republika Srpska. But is this just another political story or a real call to action? Maybe it’s time to ask – who really profits from these sanctions and who suffers?
