Ministry of Economy Supports Development of Small and Family Owned Businesses in Serbia

Ministry of Economy Finally Backs Small and Family-Owned Businesses in Serbia!

Did you know that many companies in Serbia employ multiple members of the same family? Well, the Ministry of Economy has finally decided to give them a financial boost – up to 2 million dinars, with half of that amount as non-refundable grants! Yes, you read that right – the government is handing out cash to support businesses passed down from generation to generation.

Why does this matter?

Because many families depend on a single business, and supporting such companies means security for entire households. The Ministry also offers a credit line with a low interest rate of 2.5% and loans up to 5 million dinars. This is a golden opportunity for anyone employing at least two family members to upgrade their business.

How to apply?

Applications are already open, and the official award ceremony will be held at the Palace of Serbia. The Ministry invites all interested parties to apply and seize this chance.

Is this the end of the story?

Of course not! This initiative is just the beginning. The Ministry of Economy shows it is ready to support those building Serbia’s future from their homes and family workshops. But will this support be enough to stop the youth exodus and the decline of small businesses? Time will tell.

Fun fact:

Besides this news, Serbia faces many challenges – from rising real estate prices in Belgrade, gas negotiations with Russia, to the war in Ukraine. But as the world changes, family businesses remain the backbone of the domestic economy.

If you have a family business or know someone who does, maybe it’s time to apply for this government support. Or if you’re skeptical, share your thoughts – is this just another empty promise or a real chance for small entrepreneurs? The comments are open, so feel free to join the conversation!
