Monstrous Murder and Abuse in KPZ Padinska Skela: Who’s Responsible for the Prisoner’s Death?

Hell Behind Bars at KPZ Padinska Skela: Murder, Abuse, and Justice Delayed!

Welcome to the heart of Serbian prison horror, where the story of three accused for the brutal murder and abuse of inmate S. B. turns into a real judicial soap opera. Is this just another case where the system fails and the innocent suffer? Let’s dive into the details that will make you ask – where is the justice?

The Crime That Shook KPZ Padinska Skela

In January and February last year, in the old part of KPZ Padinska Skela, three inmates – Srećko Stefanović (21), Saša Stanković (21), and Dalibor Petrović (23) – were accused of horrific abuse and murder of their cellmate S. B. According to allegations, this young man was subjected to daily psychological, physical, and sexual abuse that culminated in his death on February 4.

Imagine this – slaps, kicks with feet and hands to the head and body, knee strikes to ribs and thighs, punches to the head and chest, sexual abuse, and even humiliation such as forcing him to drink urine and coffee from a cup, while Stefanović pulled his tongue out with a brush to prevent him from complaining! All this happened in cell number 14, where S. B. shared space with two other inmates.

The Trial and Testimonies Breaking the Bones of Justice

At the trial, which continued with the questioning of nine witnesses, mostly prison staff, the situation became even more complicated. Some witnesses claimed that S. B. said no one was mistreating him, while others described his injuries and ailments. The accused gave contradictory statements – Petrović claims he was forced to lie and that Stefanović lied about his role, while Stanković says he was beaten and threatened.

The judge rejected requests to release the accused from custody, and the next hearing is scheduled for September 25. Besides this case, there is also a proceeding against five prison employees at KPZ Padinska Skela suspected of negligence that led to the tragedy.

A System That Fails to Protect: Negligent Workers and Injustice

The accused employees, including doctor Vesna S. and shift leader Slađan K., are charged with failing to take necessary measures to protect S. B. and ignoring his injuries and abuse. Their negligence led to the death of a young man, and justice is still waiting to arrive.

Why Do Such Things Happen?

This case casts a dark shadow over the Serbian judicial and prison system. How is it possible that a young man, convicted of a misdemeanor, is subjected to such abuse? Where are the oversight institutions? Why are the accused still free or in custody while the victim’s family waits for justice?

Conclusion: A System That Must Change

This is not just a story about one prison murder. It is an alarm for the entire system. If the treatment of inmates does not change, if stricter controls and punishments for abusers are not introduced, such tragedies will repeat.

What do you think about this case? Is justice slow or non-existent? Share your thoughts, because silence only feeds injustice.
