Chaos at Montenegro Borders: Tourists Stuck in Holiday Traffic Jam

Imagine this – Montenegro, the land of stunning coastlines and a favorite summer getaway, has turned into a complete nightmare! Due to the Statehood Day holidays on July 13 and 14, millions of tourists and locals have flocked massively to the seaside, causing border crossings to explode with traffic jams. Cars are lined up for kilometers, and drivers are forced to wait for hours as the traffic system struggles to cope with the pressure.

Huge queues at border crossings, especially at the entry from North Macedonia, have caused a total collapse. Drivers are warned to bring plenty of water and prepare for long waits, as the situation does not improve even after the system starts working again.

To make matters worse, while tourists are stuck in traffic jams, Greece is battling wildfires ravaging popular resorts, and stormy weather is approaching Montenegro. The perfect storm for those hoping for a peaceful Adriatic vacation!

The holidays are extended – July 13 and 14 are non-working days, and since the first day of Statehood falls on a Sunday, Tuesday, July 15 is also a day off. This has further fueled the massive exodus to the sea, as everyone wants to make the most of their free days.

This border chaos is not just a problem for tourists but also for locals who face daily traffic collapses. We urge patience and caution, but it’s clear the system is completely unprepared for such waves of travelers.

If you’re already stuck in a queue or planning a trip, get ready for a real adventure – and don’t forget to bring a good sense of humor, you’ll definitely need it! Got any crazy border stories? Share them, so we can all laugh or be shocked at how out of control this has gotten!
