Good morning, Montenegro! The roads are dry, visibility is good, but don’t be fooled – the traffic chaos is still in full swing! AMSCG warns drivers to be extremely careful because even though the asphalt is dry, the roads are a total mess.
On the regional road Đurđevića Tara – Mojkovac, specifically at the Sokolovina spot, traffic is completely stopped due to falling rocks. Yes, you read that right – rocks are falling, and drivers are stuck waiting while the critical point is being fixed. And that’s not all! On regional road R29, between Bar and Kamenički Most in Krute, traffic is closed from 8 to 11 AM and from 1 to 4 PM. Whoever planned these works probably isn’t a driver.
Main roads M2 and M3 aren’t any better. On the sections Lepenac – Ribarevina and Ribarevina – Poda Poda Berane, traffic moves on one lane alternately, with occasional stops lasting up to 30 minutes. On the Plužine – Jasenovo Polje road, traffic is controlled by traffic lights due to works. And let’s not forget the adaptation of regional road R19 near Trešnjevik in Andrijevica, where traffic changed from two-way to one-way.
In Podgorica, Vojsavljevića street is closed due to boulevard construction, so vehicles must use alternative routes. On main road M6, between Pljevlja and Đurđevića Tara, as well as on the Šavnik – Žabljak section, traffic is occasionally changed from two-way to one-way due to landslide and cliff repairs. And on M3, between Šćepan Polje and Danilovgrad, traffic is alternating due to asphalt works.
Is this normal? The roads are dry, but drivers feel like they’re in a traffic hell. AMSCG advises maximum caution, but is that enough? How much more waiting and frustration can we endure until these works are finished?
And if you thought that’s all, think again! Satellite imaging of Montenegro’s territory will only be completed by July 25, meaning monitoring and planning will be even slower. And with 35 degrees Celsius on the thermometer, waiting in traffic jams is no picnic.
Bottom line? Drive slow, be patient, and brace yourself for road chaos. Got a hilarious story from Montenegro’s roads? Share it – maybe we all need a good laugh while waiting for things to get better!
