Just when you think you’ve seen it all, the Most party from Rijeka drops a video that will blow your mind! Krešimir Rotim, one of their members, claims that the Ustaše were not fascists, that they didn’t sell Dalmatia to Italy, and that there were no mass graves found in Jasenovac! Yes, you read that right. In a video that went viral on social media, Rotim tries to rewrite history and justify a regime synonymous with evil. He claims the Ustaše were revolutionaries fighting against the Greater Serbian idea, not fascists. And as the cherry on top, he says Dalmatia was sold by the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, not the Ustaše. So, who’s the real traitor then? Rotim even downplays the number of victims in Jasenovac, claiming only 83 people were killed there, while official estimates and numerous historians speak of tens of thousands of innocent victims. Most quickly distanced themselves, saying the video was Rotim’s personal interpretation and that the party condemns all totalitarian regimes, including the Ustaše regime. But is that enough? The Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was a fascist puppet state with a regime that enacted racial laws, persecuted, and murdered Serbs, Jews, Roma, and political opponents. Jasenovac was a death camp, a place of horrific crimes. And let’s not forget, Pavelić voluntarily handed over a large part of the Adriatic coast to fascist Italy, including cities and islands, a historical example of betrayal of national interests. This video and the views expressed are not just historical revisionism but a dangerous game with memory and truth.
