Mothers in the Balkans sacrificed much during wars.

Mothers have borne the greatest sacrifices in the Balkan wars over the past 120 years. Monuments to mothers from World War I testify to their courage and losses. In the village of Balosave, old white marble monuments draw attention, including the monument to Marica, who died searching for her soldier son. Radivoje Rade J. Stojanović, a war prisoner, wrote a poem about the sufferings of prisoners, published in 1928. There are many similar events in Serbia.
