Murder in Barcelona: Filip Knežević, The Escape, and The Bloody Kavčani vs Škaljari Feud
Yesterday, a man believed to be Filip Knežević, a 36-year-old fugitive from Cetinje, was murdered in Barcelona. According to information obtained by Kurir, Knežević was one of the direct hitmen involved in the bloody feud between the Kavčani and Škaljari clans, which reached a deadly peak on the island of Corfu on July 23.
Spanish investigators are still verifying the victim’s identity, as he was found with documents suspected to be forged. Only after DNA analysis and fingerprint comparison will it be confirmed if the victim is indeed Knežević. Reports say he was in direct contact with Veljko Belivuk, the leader of the criminal group, receiving orders from him.
The Corfu incident involved an ambush on Škaljari members, with around 30 bullets fired at their Toyota. Knežević and his accomplices managed to escape after the crime, and Montenegro has issued a warrant for his arrest.
Spanish police confirmed that the man was shot three times in central Barcelona — twice in the back and once in the head. Witnesses described the attacker as a large man, and the investigation is ongoing.
This event is just the latest chapter in the bloody conflict between the Kavčani and Škaljari clans, a war that has lasted for years and claimed many lives. The murder in Barcelona shows that this criminal clan war doesn’t stop even on Spanish soil.
If you think this is just another mafia story, think again. This bloody saga is unfolding right before our eyes, with consequences felt far beyond Montenegro. Who’s next on the hit list? Only time will tell.
