Musical Cinema Thrills the Youngest at Tivat Music Festival

Have you ever heard of a musical cinema? No? Well, get ready to be amazed! At this year’s Tivat Music Festival, kids and parents got to enjoy something that sounds like every little artist’s dream – a blend of animated cartoons and live classical music! Yes, live! A seven-member musical ensemble, featuring a string quartet, horn, accordion, and percussion, performed works by great composers like Beethoven, Prokofiev, Elgar, and Verdi, as well as contemporary composers including Igor Andrić.

This innovative program, organized by the Tekiart association from Kragujevac, took place on the beautiful summer stage Piazza Centrale in Luštica Bay over two evenings, July 15 and 17. Kids learned musical terms and scales through play and song, and the audience’s reaction was so positive that cellist Đorđe Bjelica highlighted this as their first international guest appearance, with the audience being the true reward for their effort.

Tekiart’s director, Božidar Rajić, expressed great satisfaction with the success of their tour around the Bay of Kotor, emphasizing the interactive nature of the performances that further thrilled the audience. And if you think that’s all, think again! The festival runs until August 20, with the next event being a performance by percussionist Darko Karlečik in Gornja Lastva at 10 PM.

This musical cinema is not just entertainment but a real music school for the youngest, combining art, education, and interaction in a unique way. If you missed it, no worries – the festival is still on, and who knows, maybe next year you’ll be part of this magic. Now, take a look at your favorite cartoons and imagine them with live music – sounds like a fairy tale, right?
