Imagine this: people in Zrenjanin finally get a train to Belgrade after years of waiting, and what happens? The ruling party’s fear of the student protest in Belgrade is stronger than the train schedule itself! The council group of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) in Zrenjanin exposes a dirty game – rail traffic between Zrenjanin, Belgrade, and Subotica was halted just one day before a major student protest. Coincidence? Of course not!
Zrenjanin residents were only given the chance to travel by train to Belgrade six months ago, but now, as if someone pressed the panic button in the ruling party, the trains have stopped. LSV clearly states: “The ruling party’s fear is stronger than the train schedule!”
But that’s not all. A few years ago, the ruling party removed kilometers of railway tracks in Vojvodina, leaving many towns without rail transport. Now, as citizens of Serbia express dissatisfaction, the government spares no means – not only have they stopped the trains, but as LSV ironically concludes, they might soon close roads, dry up rivers, and ban air travel!
This situation is not just about transport. It’s about the government’s fear of the people, about suppressing freedom of movement and expression. While students plan protests, the government panics and uses every possible method to stop them.
If you think this is just a local problem, think again. This is a sign that the government in Serbia cannot tolerate criticism and is ready to violate basic citizens’ rights to keep its position.
So, what do you think? Is the train schedule really more important than the right to protest? Or is this just another proof that fear of the people is stronger than everything? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, and let’s expose this power game together!
