The Slovenian parliament has adopted amendments to the Law on Health Services, which almost completely prohibit dual practice for doctors and medical staff. The ban applies to employees in state healthcare institutions from simultaneously working in the private sector. Health Minister Valentina Prevolnik Rupel emphasized that dual practice will only be allowed in exceptional cases. The amendments aim to encourage doctors to work more for public organizations, rather than as independent entrepreneurs. The amendments were adopted in the first reading.
