Nikolic Claims: Parliamentary Committee is a Political Farce Against DPS and Montenegro’s Independence Restoration

POLITICAL CIRCUS OR TRUTH?

Andrija Nikolic, the chairman of the parliamentary committee investigating the actions of state bodies in cases of political assassinations and attacks, doesn’t hold back. He claims the entire committee is just a political farce, orchestrated to criminalize the project of restoring Montenegrin independence and to damage the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).

Nikolic openly states that the committee’s goal is to continue punishing and criminalizing the independence referendum, thereby discrediting DPS and their rising popularity. He accuses the current parliamentary majority of recycling old and fabricating new charges against political opponents, especially DPS.

Parliamentary Committee – Political Performance or Judicial Outcome?

Nikolic emphasizes that the committee was formed due to the lack of coherent policy by the current government and that its purpose is more political than legal. The prosecution has already announced it will not deal with the so-called “black troikas” cases due to statute of limitations, raising the question of the committee’s purpose. According to Nikolic, the goal is not justice but politics and settling scores with DPS and Milo Djukanovic.

He also warns against allowing victims to be exploited for political purposes and against false accusations damaging individuals’ reputations.

Political Accusations and Fabrications

Nikolic rejects claims that Montenegro was involved in the assassination of Zoran Djindjic, calling it a brazen fabrication. He reminds that the assassination was carried out by a member of the Serbian special operations unit, not Montenegrin state bodies.

What’s Next?

The committee continues its work, with the next hearing scheduled for July 8, when Vojo Lakovic will be heard. Nikolic says proposals for other witnesses will be considered, but questions whether it will make any sense.

Conclusion

This political show, according to Nikolic, serves only as a political campaign against DPS and the project of restoring Montenegrin independence. If there is true political will, the real mechanisms of the system – prosecution, courts, security agencies – can and should do their job, not parliamentary committees used for political vendettas.

So, what do you think about this political circus? Is it the truth or just another show for the public? Drop a comment, maybe together we can shed light on this dark stage!
