Niš Science and Technology Park 2: 20 Million Euro Investment and 500 New Jobs

Niš Science and Technology Park 2: 20 Million Euro Investment and 500 New Jobs – Savior for Youth or Empty Promises?

The city of Niš is investing over 20 million euros in the construction of the second building of the Science and Technology Park (NTP 2). The project covers about 17,000 square meters of modern space and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Niš’s mayor, Dragoslav Pavlović, announces that around 1,500 specialists, mostly young people, will work in NTP 2, while 50 new companies plan to employ about 500 workers. This is a great opportunity for young and highly educated people in the region.

The president of the Economic Council of Niš, Milan Ranđelović, emphasizes the importance of this investment for the IT sector and high-tech companies. NTP 2 will contribute to reducing unemployment and changing the employment structure in the region.

The total capacity of NTP Niš with the new building will be about 30,000 square meters of office and laboratory space, further strengthening the innovation center of southern and eastern Serbia.

But is everything really that great?

Although 20 million euros sounds impressive, the question remains whether 500 jobs will actually be created and whether young people will stay in Niš or continue to seek opportunities elsewhere.

The mayor and the council president give optimistic statements, but time will tell if NTP 2 will be a real driver of change or just another project that remains on paper.

Conclusion?

Niš is on the brink of a technological revolution with NTP 2. With a 20 million euro investment and 17,000 square meters of space, this is an opportunity not to be missed. But only jobs and opportunities for young people can justify this investment.

What do you think? Do you believe NTP 2 will bring change or is it just another media story? Share your thoughts, let’s see who’s optimistic and who’s skeptical!
