New Republic Administrative Fees from July 1: How Much Will We Really Pay?
Starting July 1 this year, citizens and legal entities in Serbia will face changes in the amounts of republic administrative fees. The Tax Administration has announced new tariffs that will apply according to the law, affecting many everyday services.
What is changing?
The new rules introduce different fees for submitting requests, issuing certificates, appeals, and other administrative services. For example, the fee for submitting a request, unless otherwise prescribed by law, amounts to a certain number of dinars. For residency certificates for the purpose of applying double taxation avoidance agreements, individuals will pay 2,000 dinars, while legal entities will pay 6,000 dinars.
Appeals in administrative procedures will be charged a fee of 2,000 dinars, while issuing certificates or confirmations will have a fee of 1,000 dinars. If a copy of an act or file is needed, the fee will be 500 dinars.
Specially defined are the total amounts in cases when requesting a tax certificate or deferral of tax debt payment. The request for issuing a tax certificate will be charged a total fee of 3,000 dinars, while the request for deferral of tax debt payment will amount to 1,500 dinars.
How will this affect citizens?
These changes mean that citizens and companies will have to spend more money on administrative services that were previously cheaper or charged at lower rates. At a time when living costs are already high, such changes may further burden household and business budgets.
What do experts say?
Tax experts warn that the increase in fees may slow down administrative processes as citizens and companies will be more cautious in submitting requests. There is also concern that the number of appeals and complaints will increase due to additional costs.
What else should you know?
Besides changes in administrative fees, from June 27, diesel fuel at pumps in Serbia will cost 200 dinars per liter, while Euro-premium BMB gasoline will be 210 dinars per liter. These changes in fuel prices further burden citizens’ budgets.
Conclusion
The changes in the amounts of republic administrative fees from July 1 are not small and bring additional costs for citizens and legal entities. Combined with rising fuel prices, it is clear that many will wonder how to cope with all these changes without additional financial problems.
