Have you heard about the latest scandal in Novi Sad? While all of Serbia is still recovering from the tragedy at the railway station where a canopy collapsed, shocking information is emerging that casts a dark shadow over the prosecutors’ work! Lawyer and president of the People’s Party Vladimir Gajić publicly accused Novi Sad prosecutors of literally removing all the remains of the canopy within 24 hours after the accident! Yes, you read that right – the evidence vanished faster than you can say “investigation”!
According to Gajić, instead of waiting for forensic experts, prosecutors Slobodan Josimović and Branislav Lepotić ordered the area to be cleared and all traces of the ruins removed. Even the city cleaning service cleaned the site in the morning! All this was done before the forensic examination even began, which was reportedly conducted only on November 5th, although the prosecution claimed it was done on November 2nd. Who’s lying here? Gajić claims this is classic evidence destruction and the whole process is suspicious as hell.
But that’s not all! The prosecutors allegedly rushed to remove the canopy remains to prevent any further investigation, including the possibility of involving foreign experts like the FBI or FSB, who have been called in similar cases before. Is this an attempt to cover things up? Gajić insists it’s clear the prosecutorial trio doesn’t want to uncover the real truth but rather protect the interests of some powerful people, maybe former parliament presidents or infrastructure shareholders.
Of course, the prosecution says the priority was rescue operations and that no explosives were found at the scene. But how do you explain that all traces were removed within 20 hours? Is it possible everything was done so quickly and transparently? Or is this just another example of how serious incidents get swept under the rug in Serbia?
This story is far from over. Gajić promises to reveal more details in the coming days and fight for the truth. And us? We can only wonder – who do we trust now? The prosecutors who erase evidence or the lawyers accusing them of a cover-up? Got a hot take? Drop it below – maybe together we’ll uncover what really happened in Novi Sad!
