Imagine this: a real revolution in waste disposal is brewing in Koševi! Aleksandar Božović, director of Deponija, announced that the first of 15 special bins for commercial and hospitality businesses will soon be installed. But these aren’t your average trash cans – these bins will be locked, covered, and designated for cardboard, plastic bags, paper, and bulky waste. The goal? To reduce container overload, ease traffic jams, and cut down on garbage truck trips.
Officially, the exact locations for the first four bins are still undecided, pending instructions from the Secretariat of Traffic and Communal Affairs. One location will be on Miljana Vukova street, where containers fill up too fast and cause big traffic jams.
Božović emphasizes that the bins will be emptied as needed, not on a fixed schedule, meaning fewer garbage truck trips. Plus, the collected material will be sold further – a true ecological and economic win!
But will traders and restaurateurs actually follow the law and use these bins properly? Božović is optimistic, but the question remains – will this system really take off or end up as just another unused idea?
While we wait for all the pieces to fall into place, citizens and businesses can only hope this project brings a cleaner, tidier environment, less noise from trucks, and less trash on the streets. And if you have any funny or scary stories about waste disposal in your area, feel free to share – maybe your comment will spark a real recycling revolution!
