Justice or Just a Show? Newly Appointed Public Prosecutors Finally Swear In!
Today, in the Serbian Parliament, an event many have been waiting for took place – the newly appointed public prosecutors took their oath. But is this just a formality or the start of a new era of justice?
The oath was taken in the presence of the Supreme Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac and the Speaker of the Parliament Ana Brnabić, along with members of the High Prosecutorial Council. Dolovac congratulated the new prosecutors and wished them success in their future work, but will that be enough to face all the challenges ahead?
This is the first time public prosecutors have been elected to this position, which should bring greater transparency and accountability to the judicial system. However, citizens still doubt the efficiency and independence of the prosecution, as problems with corruption and political influence are deeply rooted.
Will these new prosecutors manage to implement real reforms, or will everything remain just nice words and ceremonies? Only time will tell.
