Opening of the Pakovraće-Požega Highway Section in Serbia

The Pakovraće-Požega highway section, approximately 19.5 kilometers long, is entering its final phase of construction, with the official opening scheduled for June 28. This highway section is a continuation of the Miloš Veliki highway and part of the E763 corridor, connecting Belgrade with the south and west of the country, and in a broader context, the Adriatic coast. The opening of this section will significantly reduce travel time, decrease traffic congestion, and increase road safety. The route passes through a challenging mountainous terrain in western Serbia and includes two tunnels and several bridges. The opening is expected to provide a new boost to tourism and economic development in the Moravički and Zlatibor districts, enabling faster access to tourist centers such as Zlatibor, Tara, and Drina.

They may also stress the importance of infrastructure investment for equitable growth and reducing regional disparities.
