Opening of German PWO Factory in Čačak: Investment or Political Spectacle?

Welcome to Čačak, where the most modern German PWO group factory is opening, and President Vučić is not holding back his praise! An investment of 89 million euros, state subsidies, and promises of thousands of new jobs sound like a fairy tale. But is everything really that great? Vučić claims that trade exchange with Germany will exceed 10 billion euros this year, and Čačak’s budget will jump from 2.3 billion to 8 billion! Is this realistic or just political propaganda? PWO group, a family-owned German company with over 100 years of tradition, specializes in precise steel components for the automotive industry and other technologies. The factory in Čačak already employs 300 workers, with plans to expand with three or four more production halls and a total of 1,000 employees by 2030. Vučić emphasizes that the arrival of such companies is key to Serbia’s future, but the state must solve infrastructure problems like water supply and electricity. On the other hand, the president does not spare criticism of blockades and protests, calling them extremism and warning that the state will not allow the country to be blocked indefinitely. “You will never be stronger by throwing containers and crazy actions,” Vučić says. The opening of the factory in Čačak is, according to him, a symbol of long-term cooperation between Serbia and Germany, as well as a test of trust in the Serbian economy. Is this really the beginning of a new industrial era or just another political spectacle? Share your thoughts, maybe you know what is really behind the scenes of this investment!
