Pam Bondi confirmed as U.S. Attorney General, 54-46 vote.

Pam Bondi was confirmed as the U.S. Attorney General by a Senate vote of 54 to 46, after her predecessor, Matt Gaetz, withdrew his candidacy due to a lack of support among Republican senators. Bondi is a former Attorney General of Florida and is known for her conservative views. Her nomination passed the Senate Judiciary Committee by a narrow margin, and during her hearing, she criticized the “politicization” of the Department of Justice under the administration of former President Biden. Bondi was one of Trump’s leading allies during the presidential campaign.
