Have you ever experienced an evening where every spoken word carries the weight of emotion, and every tone reminds you of the beauty of simplicity? The Mozzart Foundation hosted such a magical cultural event for the second time – a literary evening called “Living Poetry.” The renowned actor Nebojša Milovanović once again thrilled the audience, but this time he was not alone. He was accompanied by the musical duo Le Duo, featuring violinist Ljubica Damčević and pianist Nikola Vidojević, who together created a unique artistic experience blending voice, verse, and music.
The audience had the chance to embark on a journey through the verses of some of the most significant Serbian poets, including Ljubomir Simović, Branislav Petrović, Miroslav Antić, Jovan Dučić, Matija Bećković, Petar Pajić, Vitomir Nikolić, Milena Marković, Milutin Bojić, and Dobrica Erić. Each poem was a new chapter in a quiet yet powerful story about the beauty of words. The poetry came alive and left an indelible mark.
Milovanović emphasized how great poetry is his inspiration and how the audience gives him strength to transcend time and space. After his second performance, the audience wanted more, but the actor had to deny them, promising a future meeting. The Mozzart Foundation once again demonstrated the importance of nurturing artistic spaces and giving the audience a chance to pause, listen, and feel the beauty of poetry.
This event is part of a broader cultural scene in Belgrade, where the Mozzart Foundation organizes numerous free performances, poetry evenings, concerts, lectures, and exhibitions. The Mozzart Theatre Festival will close this year’s season from June 29 to July 2 with four plays, including titles like “Eight Women,” “Pockets Full of Stones,” “Nana,” and “Warrior’s Square.”
