Ustasha Concert in Zagreb and Serbia’s Silence: Socialist Movement is Furious!
Have you heard about the biggest Ustasha gathering in Zagreb since Bleiburg? No? Not surprising, since the European Union and official Serbia seem to have forgotten it happened! The Socialist Movement, led by Aleksandar Vulin, can’t believe how Serbs are calmly watching the concert of Marko Perković Thompson, announced as a celebration of the anniversary of “Operation Storm” — an event many Serbs still see as a symbol of suffering and tragedy.
Why No Reaction?
Vulin and the Socialist Movement ask: Why don’t Serbs block the Croatian embassy? Why don’t they declare Prime Minister Plenković persona non grata? Why don’t they report Ustasha activities to Brussels like they do with Serbian police? It seems Serbs don’t care while Zagreb celebrates what many call a continuation of the NDH and Ustasha ideology.
The European Union is Silent, History Repeats
The European Union, which loves to pose as a guardian of human rights and democracy, has chosen to stay silent this time. As if an Ustasha concert in the heart of Europe is something to ignore. But as Vulin says, “Children will see and say: I won’t go to school, I’ll become a prostitute” — ironically pointing to how bad the situation is and how values are changing.
What Does the Socialist Movement Say?
The message is clear: Serbia must not stay silent. It must not allow history to repeat and Ustashas to be celebrated as normal. If Serbs don’t react now, what will happen tomorrow? Will we accept EU recognition of Kosovo, abandonment of Republika Srpska, and singing Thompson as normal?

This concert is not just a musical event. It’s a political signal, a warning, and a call to wake up. If Serbia keeps turning a blind eye, history will repeat, and the consequences will be terrible.
