POLICE, BLOCKADES, AND THE LAW FACULTY: THE TRUTH YOU WON’T HEAR ELSEWHERE!
Have you ever thought the police could storm into the Law Faculty and arrest students? Forget it! Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has fiercely denied all those rumors swirling on social media and some news outlets. The police were just trying to restore order and clear the traffic jams, not raid university halls!
So, what really happened? While removing blockades on the square in front of the Law Faculty, police acted against people who placed containers, fences, benches, and flower pots on the intersection and roadway. At one point, police intended to detain certain individuals standing on the faculty’s steps, but they never entered the faculty’s actual premises. The university’s autonomy was respected, and that’s a fact worth remembering.
But let’s be real — blocking roads and public spaces sparks anger and hatred among Serbian citizens. Ambulances can’t reach patients, traffic is a mess, and ordinary people suffer because of political games and protests. Is this how problems get solved? Or just another proof that citizens’ rights are being trampled?
While the government tries to keep order, the opposition and various movements seize every chance to stir chaos and insecurity. The mayor of Kosjerić even claimed voters were intimidated and couldn’t go to the polls. Is this democracy or something else entirely?
In this whirlwind of events, Serbian citizens lose the most. While politicians bicker, ordinary people watch their rights get crushed and life get harder. Maybe it’s time we all stop and ask — who really benefits from this?
