Police Crackdown in Sremska Mitrovica: Alcohol, Drugs, and Reckless Drivers Under Fire!

POLICE CRACKDOWN THAT WILL SHOCK YOU!

In Sremska Mitrovica and surrounding areas, the police have launched a massive crackdown on the roads! You won’t believe what they found – 13 drivers caught committing serious traffic offenses, with alcohol and drugs starring in this dark drama.

Just imagine: one driver in Ruma was caught driving with a staggering 2.99‰ blood alcohol content! Yes, you read that right – almost three promille! In Šid, a 59-year-old man was driving an Opel with 2.32‰, while in Inđija, a 69-year-old Fiat driver had 2.28‰. Even a cyclist in Sremska Mitrovica wasn’t spared – 2.21‰ blood alcohol content! This isn’t a movie scene; it’s the harsh reality on our streets.

But wait, there’s more! In Stara Pazova, drivers were caught riding unregistered motorcycles, under the influence of cannabis, amphetamines, and even cocaine! A 25-year-old was driving a Peugeot under cannabis influence, another driver had 0.51‰ alcohol and was under amphetamines. In Ruma, a 23-year-old Škoda driver tested positive for cannabis and cocaine, and in Vrdnik, an 18-year-old was driving a Golf under cannabis influence.

The police acted swiftly – all these drivers were removed from traffic, and criminal and misdemeanor charges will be filed against them. This sends a clear message: reckless behavior on the roads will not be tolerated.

What’s going on with our drivers? Have alcohol and drugs become a part of driving culture? How is it possible that people with such high levels of alcohol and drugs in their system even get behind the wheel? This isn’t just an individual problem; it’s a societal one that needs urgent action before it’s too late.

At the same time, the police are preparing for upcoming protests, promising to prevent violence and any attempts to storm institutions. General Dejan Luković assures that police will be on the ground protecting public order and safety, urging citizens to behave responsibly and obey laws.

These two events – reckless drivers and planned protests – show just how tense the social climate is and how much serious action and responsibility are needed from all of us.

Have you ever seen someone driving drunk or high? What do you think, is it time for harsher measures or is this just the tip of the iceberg? Share your thoughts, maybe together we can make a difference!
