Summer has arrived, but in Nikšić, a real drama is unfolding! The fire in the Rubeža neighborhood is not just an accident — it’s a glaring example of how human carelessness and malice can endanger an entire community. Slavko Tadić, commander of the protection and rescue service, doesn’t hold back: “The fire started because of open burning, which is strictly forbidden, but some irresponsible citizens just ignore it!” Three houses were at risk, all because some people think they can burn trash, clean yards, or dumps whenever they want. The fire was reported at 1:30 PM, and firefighters quickly responded and saved the houses. Still, the damage is huge — about 2 square meters of land was burned, and the police have already launched an investigation against unknown perpetrators. Even though the fire season has started, the ban on open burning is still being ignored. Is this just human error or malice? Tadić clearly says this is a “pure example of human factor and malice.” And it’s not the first time — just yesterday, another fire was put out in Trebjesi, also reported to the police as deliberately set. If you think this is just a local problem, think again! Irresponsible individuals are putting not only their neighbors but the whole community at risk. Maybe it’s time for all of us to ask — how much do we care about the safety and lives of those around us? What do you think? Is it time to finally take the ban on open burning seriously, or will we keep watching houses burn because of irresponsibility? Drop a comment, share your story, or just say how familiar this is to you. Let’s hear the voice of reason before it’s too late!
