A blazing inferno struck the weekend settlement between Vinča and Požega near Golubac on Monday! The thick smoke was so dense that visibility was nearly zero, and the fire spread rapidly towards the forest. In this devastating blaze, four houses were completely destroyed. Among the owners affected is the famous actress Lidija Vukićević, who has now spoken out about the ordeal. “It was terrifying, but thank God the fire was brought under control. The most important thing is that people are safe; everything else burned down,” Lidija said. Although she wasn’t on site, many people kept her informed and worried about her property, even sending her photos from the scene. “My plot and weekend house remained untouched, thanks to everyone who thought of me,” the actress concluded.
Is this yet another sign that our weekend homes and nature are under threat? Fires in Serbia are becoming more frequent and intense, causing massive damage. Four burned houses in Vinča are just a drop in the ocean of problems we face. Will the authorities finally step up to prevent such disasters, or will we keep watching flames devour our homes?
