The first preparatory meeting for international participation in the specialized Expo 2027 exhibition was held in Belgrade, where representatives from over 150 countries visited the construction site in Surčin. The Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzes, explained that it is common for host countries to use temporary building permits to speed up construction. The number of participating countries is expected to grow, and Expo 2027 will be the first such event in the Western Balkans. Delegates expressed satisfaction with the organization and see Serbia as a regional leader with significant business opportunities.
