Another Failure in Pristina: 40th Attempt to Constitute Assembly Fails Again!

Pristina in a Never-Ending Loop: 40th Attempt to Constitute Assembly Fails Again!

Do people in Pristina even know what the word “progress” means? Because judging by their assembly, it’s just a myth! Imagine this: the 40th attempt to constitute the assembly, and guess what? Nothing! Yes, you read that right, FORTIETH time!

The elections were held on February 9th, but it seems like a curse was placed on them – no party has enough mandates to form a government alone. Self-Determination has 48 mandates, Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, Democratic League of Kosovo 20, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 8, Serbian List 9, and others combined 11.

So what happened? The constitutive session of the provisional Pristina institutions’ assembly was interrupted for the 40th time! The reason? The proposal for secret voting for the assembly president was not adopted. Serbian List, Democratic League of Kosovo, Democratic Party of Kosovo, and Alliance for the Future of Kosovo didn’t even propose members for the secret voting commission.

The Self-Determination candidate, Albuljen Hadžiju, failed to get the required 61 votes despite six attempts! The highest he got was 57 votes, still not enough.

The court in Pristina ruled on June 26th that MPs must conclude the constitutive session within 30 days, but apparently, that’s not enough to move things forward.

This sounds like a bad soap opera with endless episodes, but it’s reality in Pristina. While they play political games, citizens wait for stability and a normal life.

If you think this is the end, think again. The session continuation is scheduled for July 3rd, but will anything change? Probably not, because politics in Pristina seems stuck in a vicious circle with no way out.

What about you? What do you think about this never-ending circus? Is this real politics or just a show for the public? Drop a comment, let’s see who else is tired of these political games!
