Professors of the Medical Faculty in Novi Sad and Regime Targeting During the Strike

Professors of the Medical Faculty at the University of Novi Sad are facing regime targeting while supporting their students during a strike. The strike committee states that during the strike, pro-regime media repeatedly attempted to undermine the safety and integrity of the strike by targeting committee members. Despite the pressures, the professors stand firmly with their students and continue the fight for better conditions and the preservation of the university. The dean of the faculty and five others were arrested in an attempt to intimidate strike committee members further. This situation raises concerns about the violation of constitutional and legal rights of the faculty employees.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets emphasize the solidarity between professors and students, highlighting the unjust targeting by pro-regime media and authorities. They focus on the struggle for workers’ rights, academic freedom, and the defense of constitutional rights during the strike.

Center: Center-leaning sources report the facts of the strike and the arrests, presenting the situation as a conflict between university staff and authorities. They stress the legal aspects of the strike and the attempts to reach a resolution, while noting the tensions caused by media coverage.

Right: Right-leaning media may downplay the strike or frame it as politically motivated unrest, possibly portraying the professors as obstructing normal university operations. They might emphasize the need for law and order and criticize the strike as harmful to students and the institution.
