‘Kad me ne bude’ Book Launch in Bijelo Polje: Soul-Stirring Poetry or Just Another Boring Event?
Get ready, poetry lovers and those who aren’t! On Saturday at 7 PM, the Bijelo Polje Cultural Center Gallery will host the launch of the book “Kad me ne bude” by Vukomir Bošković. Is this just another dull literary evening or a real treat for the soul?
What’s Happening?
Vukomir Bošković, who last year promoted a collection with over sixty poems of love poetry, elegies, and children’s songs, now brings a new book. Speakers at the event will include Zoran B. Bošković and Veljko Sinanović, with poetry readings by Sofija Bošković. The program moderator will be Nikola Kovačević.
Why Should You Care?
In a world where culture is often pushed aside, events like this are a beacon reminding us of the beauty of language and emotion. But is poetry still relevant today? Will “Kad me ne bude” manage to stir emotions and engage the audience?
Context and Atmosphere
This event is not alone in Bijelo Polje’s cultural life. Recently, there have been other events like Dragan Karadžić’s exhibition in Šavnik, a concert by the duo Bogdanović-Marković in the courtyard of the Risto Stijović Gallery, and the lifetime achievement award given to Matija Bećković at the Piva festival. All this shows that culture in Montenegro is still alive, though perhaps not as strong as we’d like.
Is Poetry Really Dead?
While some claim poetry is dead and no one reads it anymore, events like this show there are those who strive to keep it alive. Vukomir Bošković and his collaborators try to convey emotions, memories, and love through verses, which is true art in today’s fast and superficial world.
Conclusion
If you’re up for something different, if you want to spend an evening surrounded by poetry and culture, this might be the right opportunity. Or, if you’re skeptical and think poetry is boring, come and see for yourself. Maybe “Kad me ne bude” will surprise you.
And now, while you’re thinking about it, take a peek at the comments below – who knows, maybe you have something to say about poetry today! Or at least crack a joke about the verses.
Bogdanović-Marković Duo Concert – Music That Bridges Tradition and Modernity
If poetry isn’t your thing, maybe you’ll be interested in a concert on Wednesday, July 23, at 9 PM in the courtyard of the Risto Stijović Gallery. Guitarist Slobodan Bogdanović and solo singer Bojana Marković will perform traditional melodies from Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Greece, Russia, and Ukraine. Entrance is free, so it’s a chance to enjoy music without spending a dime.
Bojana completed her master’s studies in solo singing in Barcelona, while Slobodan is a guitar professor and a graduate student at the Academy of Performing Arts in New York. Their repertoire is rich and diverse, promising an interesting musical experience.
Culture Is Alive, It Just Needs Support
Exhibitions, concerts, book launches – all this shows that culture in Montenegro is not dead. But is it enough that only a few enthusiasts keep the flame alive? Maybe it’s time for you to step out and support these events. Or at least laugh at poetry and music in the comments below.
Is Culture in Montenegro on the Brink of Survival or Thriving?
While the media often talks about problems and crises, Montenegro’s cultural life shows strength and willpower. The launch of “Kad me ne bude,” concerts, exhibitions, and lifetime achievement awards are all signs that culture breathes. But is it enough?
Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves how much we as a society value art and how ready we are to support it. Or will we let culture become just a memory, just like the book’s title suggests – “Kad me ne bude.”
Final Thoughts for Those Who Made It This Far
If you’ve read this far, you probably do care about culture and poetry. Or you’re just curious. Either way, next time you have a chance to attend a book launch or concert, remember this text and maybe decide to try something new. And if not, you can always leave a witty comment below and make us all laugh.
After all, who says culture has to be boring?
