The morning in Montenegro started with yet another railway disaster! The train between Bar and Podgorica broke down near Vranjina due to a locomotive failure, leaving passengers stranded with no clue when the service will resume. The local train, which was supposed to arrive in Podgorica around 7:30 AM, departed from Bar nearly half an hour late. Is this yet another proof that Montenegro’s rail transport is on the brink of collapse?
Passengers are anxiously waiting to continue their journey, while the authorities remain silent. There is no information on when the issue will be fixed. This is not the first time such problems have occurred on this line, casting a shadow over the reliability of rail transport in the region.
Meanwhile, other parts of Montenegro are battling wildfires and emergencies, but the railway remains a forgotten topic. Will someone finally take responsibility and fix the tracks? Or will we keep watching trains break down and people being late for work and school?
