In the heart of Belgrade, a 28-year-old Opel Corsa driver turned the streets into a chaotic movie scene. Fleeing from the police, this driver caused a chain collision, hitting at least three cars and injuring at least three people, including two children. But that’s not all – at one point, desperate and clearly out of options, he tried to get into a car where parents with a small child were inside! Luckily, the vehicle was locked, so his crazy attempt failed.
The drama unfolded on March 27 at the intersection of Takovska Street, where the reckless driver sped at high speed, hit a taxi driver’s side mirror, collided with a gray Citroen carrying a family, and even knocked down a girl on a pedestrian crossing. After wrecking several vehicles, he tried to flee on foot but was quickly caught and arrested by the police.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as pure drama – a taxi driver said the reckless driver hit his mirror while waiting at a traffic light, and another witness said the driver desperately tried to enter the car of the family he had hit, probably hoping it would help him escape.
This story is a stark reminder of how dangerous reckless driving in the city is, putting innocent lives at risk, including children. The police acted fast, but the question remains – how do we stop these reckless drivers from endangering our safety again?
