reconstruction of events in investigation of the murder of two year old girl danka ilic

The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Zaječar is conducting a reconstruction of events today as part of the supplementary investigation against the suspects in the murder of two-year-old girl Danka Ilić. The reconstruction was ordered by the Appellate Court in Niš and is scheduled at the place where the girl disappeared. The mother of the girl has been re-examined. The suspect D.D.S.J. is charged with aggravated murder with complicity, while R.D., the father of the suspect, is charged with aiding the perpetrator and failing to report the crime. The prosecution has proposed a life sentence for D.D.S.J. It is suspected that on March 26 in Banjsko Polje near Bor, D.D.S.J. hit the girl with a vehicle and then disposed of her body at a landfill, from where it was later moved. The girl’s body has never been found. R.D. is suspected of helping to move the body. This case has attracted significant public and judicial attention.
