Reconstruction of Parking Spaces in Gramsijeva Street, New Belgrade: A Savior for Drivers or Just Another City Farce?

New Belgrade just got 100 reconstructed parking spots on Gramsijeva Street, at the corner with Klara Cetkin Street. This reconstruction is hailed as a big step towards more efficient and safer parking, aiming to ease traffic jams and boost safety for residents in this part of the city. Over the past two years, the municipality has added and reconstructed a total of 1,000 parking spaces, which sounds impressive. But is it enough? Will these works really solve the traffic congestion and parking problems in New Belgrade, or is this just another superficial fix that doesn’t address the core issues? While city officials celebrate these achievements, drivers still struggle to find free spots, and traffic jams remain a daily headache. This reconstruction might be a step in the right direction, but the question is whether it’s enough and if serious planning and investment in traffic infrastructure will continue. If you’re a driver in Belgrade, you probably know how hard it is to find parking, so feel free to drop a comment with your experiences — maybe together we’ll find a solution or at least a good topic for coffee and a heated debate.
