Former military base in Croatia is now an illegal dump.

The former military base Šepurine in Croatia, which spans a million square meters by the sea, has been turned into an illegal waste dump containing 38,000 cubic meters. The cleanup of the area, estimated at 4.5 million euros, is awaiting a decision from the government and assistance from the Environmental Protection Fund. The mayor of Nin, Emil Ćurko, emphasized that the local government lacks the resources to address this issue and is expecting support from the Ministry and the Fund. The area has great potential, but cleanup is the first step towards its development and revitalization.
