Road Conditions: Border Chaos and Dangers on Mountain Roads

Drivers, brace yourselves for road chaos! Today brings cooler weather with temperatures around 23 degrees Celsius, but don’t be fooled. AMSS warns of dangers on the roads, especially in mountainous areas where broken branches and possible landslides lurk. Drive carefully and slower because changing weather and wet roads are no joke!

Border crossings are a nightmare: at Preševo, passenger vehicles face waits up to 20 minutes, while trucks endure delays up to an hour. Similar scenes unfold at Kelebija, Batrovci, Šid, and Sremska Rača, where trucks also wait up to 60 minutes. Other crossings currently have no long delays, but traffic is moderate with occasional surges on the highway towards Preševo.

Toll booths are clear for now, but that could change. The Traffic Safety Agency highlights a big problem: vehicle component checks are often skipped, contributing to a grim statistic — 30 two-wheeler drivers have died since the start of the year!

Meteorologists predict a return of supercell storms and scorching temperatures, so it’s time to take road safety seriously. Remember, driving isn’t a race, and you only get one life. Got a wild border or road story? Share it — maybe it’ll make us laugh or warn us all!

In short, today calls for patience, caution, and a good dose of common sense. Don’t be the one who ends up in the grim stats because of speed or carelessness. Drive slow, watch out for others, and remember — borders aren’t just lines on a map, they’re places where patience and caution pay off big time!
