A Matinee Party to Remember On July 10th, starting at 4 PM, get ready for a rock’n’roll treat – a matinee party as part of the “Summer at the Museum” program. Curators Aleksandra Momčilović Jovanović and Milica Tomić, along with legends Miroslav Cvetković Cveleta, Ivan Mladenov Vanča, Nikola Nešković, and Vlado Džet, will guide you through the story of the great names of the YU rock scene.

Superband of Old Masters From 5 to 6 PM, the “Old Rock Masters” will perform – a superband made up of legends from bands like Crni Biseri, Siluete, Zlatni Dečaci, Iskre, and Lutalice. They will play covers of world hits from the album “Otrgnuto zaborava” (Torn from Oblivion). Imagine this – the pioneers of Yugoslav rock are back on stage to remind us how music once changed the world!

Film about the First Ladies of Rock At 7 PM, there will be a screening of the documentary film “Sanjalice” (Dreamers) – the story of the first female rock band in Yugoslavia. Teenage girls from Karaburma in the 1960s broke boundaries and conquered freedom in society, and now their story is getting the attention it deserves.

DJ Set That Takes You Back in Time Simultaneously, from 6 to 9 PM, DJ Ike, known for his iconic radio shows and long-standing career in the local club scene, will play a carefully selected mix of music that will revive the spirit of the pioneering days of Yugoslav rock. This is not just a party; it’s a time machine for all true music lovers!

Why Does This Matter? In an era when music is often just background noise for scrolling on your phone, this event reminds us of a time when bands and their songs were the voice of change, rebellion, and identity. The pioneers of YU rock are not just musicians; they are symbols of an era and culture that shaped generations.

If you thought rock’n’roll was dead, think again! This event at the Museum of Yugoslavia proves that the spirit of real music is alive and kicking, ready to move us all.
