Russia Blames Ukraine for Stalling Peace Talks as War Intensifies

The War Drags On, and the Talks? Russia Blames Ukraine and the US for the Deadlock!

After months of diplomatic silence and deadlock, the Kremlin finally spoke up — not to admit mistakes, but to blame Kyiv and Washington for the lack of progress in peace talks. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the pace of negotiations depends on Ukraine’s stance and the effectiveness of American mediation.

Of course, Russia has repeatedly rejected American ceasefire proposals while intensifying attacks on Ukrainian civilians. Earlier this month, Putin declared that the whole of Ukraine is theirs, further fueling the conflict.

Two rounds of talks were held in Istanbul this year, resulting only in prisoner exchanges, with no significant steps toward a ceasefire. Ukraine demanded an unconditional 30-day ceasefire, while Russia insisted on a limited 2-3 day truce only to retrieve the bodies of fallen soldiers. Ukrainian delegates clearly stated that Russia rejects the very idea of stopping the killing.

Although Russia has signaled readiness for a third round of talks, the battlefield situation remains tense. Russian forces are advancing in southeastern Ukraine, capturing territories in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, while increasing missile and drone attacks on civilians.

Ukrainian President Zelensky has expressed support for a trilateral format of talks and stressed that if the Istanbul meeting yields no results, new, strong sanctions against Russia are urgently needed. However, the Kremlin continues to reject a broad ceasefire as the war enters its fourth summer.

All in all, while the world watches, the war continues, talks stall, and civilians suffer. Who is really to blame? Russia says Ukraine and the US, Ukraine says Russia refuses peace. And us? We can only watch and wait for someone to finally stop this bloody dance.

What about you? Who do you think is the bigger culprit? Drop your thoughts below — let’s see who has the wildest conspiracy theory about this endless war!
