Prices in Russia rose sharply due to inflation and demand.

Prices in Russia rose significantly at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, with inflation reaching 10.13 percent by the end of January. The central bank states that the causes of inflation are a new wave of sanctions and a poor harvest, while capacities in the industry and service sector lagged behind demand. Consumer prices increased by an average of 9.5 percent last year, and households noticed a greater rise in prices in January. Supply was further hampered by sanctions.
