Unemployment in Russia Hits Historic Low of 2.2% – But Where Are the Experts?

Well, it looks like Russia has a reason to celebrate – the unemployment rate in May dropped to an astonishing 2.2%! That’s the lowest level since this statistic has been tracked. But hold on, is everything really that great? While the number of unemployed is falling, Russia faces a serious problem – a shortage of highly qualified specialists. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak admitted the country lacks 1.5 million such workers. And according to the Ministry of Labor’s forecasts, by 2030 Russia will face a deficit of 3.1 million workers! Not to mention that in the next five years, about 11 million jobs will need to be replaced due to retirements. Industry, education, and healthcare are especially at risk. So, while we boast about low unemployment, where are the experts who should be driving the economy? Maybe everyone is employed, but are they doing the right jobs? Or is this just a statistical illusion? Either way, Russia has a serious labor force problem that can’t be ignored. What do you think – is this a real success or just a number hiding the true picture? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s for and who’s against!
