Selective Flight Training for Military Academy Cadets: Who Will Become the Pilot of the Future?

At the Batajnica military airfield, selective flight training is underway for candidates applying to the Military Academy’s Air Force study program. This training, conducted on Utva V53 aircraft, represents the final and most crucial stage in selecting future military pilots. Pilot technicians from the School Training Aviation Squadron of the Air Brigade, led by Major Nikola Stanković, have been training candidates for seven days. These candidates have already passed the entrance exam, physical and health checks, and completed parachute training with two jumps. After finishing technical classroom instruction and ground preparation, candidates begin flying, where their psychophysical readiness, endurance, and ability to navigate airspace—an unnatural environment for humans—are closely monitored. First-class Captain Sandra Radovanović emphasizes that candidates’ reactions and actions during flight maneuvers are key to success. Those who achieve the best results will continue their education as cadets at the Military Academy and eventually command the most advanced combat aircraft and helicopters in the Serbian Army. This selective training is not just a knowledge test but a true trial of endurance and mental strength, as future pilots must be ready for all challenges of military aviation. If you thought being a pilot was just about flying, think again—this is a battle for the future of Serbia’s skies! So, dear readers, who do you think could survive this selection? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s ready for the sky!
