Hell at Serbia’s Borders: Waiting for Hours, Trucks in Agony!

Welcome to the Serbian border hell where waiting times at crossings turn into a nightmare! Passenger cars at the Gradina crossing wait up to 80 minutes, while at Horgoš entering the country can take an hour. Trucks? They are in an even worse spot — at Šid and Batrovci crossings, they wait up to three hours, and buses at Preševo stand for 20 minutes. Is this normal or did someone forget our borders aren’t closed?

According to the Serbian Border Police and JP Putevi Srbije, the situation is chaotic. At Gradina, passenger cars exiting Serbia wait up to 80 minutes, while at Preševo waiting times range from 15 to 60 minutes depending on direction. Trucks at Batrovci and Šid wait up to three hours, a real disaster for the economy and drivers.

Toll stations are thankfully without delays, but that doesn’t help much when border crossings are completely jammed. Buses at Preševo wait 20 minutes on exit, and other crossings have no longer delays, but that’s little comfort for those stuck in lines for hours.

This situation is not only frustrating for drivers but for all of us who depend on quick and efficient border crossing. Where are the officials? Who will take responsibility for this chaos? Or will we continue to suffer wait times that feel like punishment?

If you’re stuck at the border too, you know how annoying this is. Share your stories, maybe together we’ll find a solution or at least laugh at our misery. Because if we can’t escape the wait, we might as well laugh while we wait!
