Serbia and Japan: Science Revolution or Just Empty Innovation Talk?

Serbia and Japan are back in the spotlight! State Secretary Marija Gnjatović met with Japanese officials in Tokyo and claims Serbia is investing in science like never before. But is this a real revolution or just another empty story for the public?

The focus is on innovation, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, smart agriculture, and much more. Serbia is reportedly developing an AI strategy and working on a new law, all in cooperation with Japan. Sounds great, right? But where are the concrete results?

Gnjatović emphasizes that Serbia invests in science, supports researcher mobility, and wants to strengthen technology transfer. However, is that enough to pull Serbia out of the shadows and make it a serious player on the global scientific stage?

Japan, on the other hand, is a technological giant and a partner with whom Serbia wants to expand cooperation. But will this cooperation bring real changes or will it remain just on paper?

All in all, meetings, strategies, and plans sound like a good story, but a real scientific revolution requires more than nice words. Can Serbia seize this opportunity or will it all remain just another political tale?

If you have an opinion or maybe a good joke about science and politics, feel free to share it in the comments. Let the people’s voice be heard!
