In the past ten days, the Serbian Army has shown what true dedication looks like! At 23 locations across the country, our brave soldiers fought raging fires, saving property and lives. With over 30 hours of air missions, helicopters dropped about one ton of water, while dozens of work machines and hundreds of army personnel tirelessly battled fires in places like Veliko Gradište, Golubac, Prokuplje, Kragujevac, Tara, Knić, Lazarevac, Požega, Bujanovac, Aleksinac, Kuršumlija, Mionica, Ub, and Gornji Milanovac.

Harsh weather conditions didn’t stop them! Despite dry and windy days, the army, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, emergency sectors, and local governments, deployed all available resources — from personnel to mobile equipment and aircraft. The result? Major tragedies and damages that could have had catastrophic consequences for our country were prevented.

But let’s be real — how often do we hear about such heroic feats? The Serbian Army isn’t just for wartime conflicts; it’s a pillar of security even in peacetime crises. Their readiness to jump in and help citizens and protect nature deserves huge praise. While many complain about weather disasters, our soldiers are out there, day and night, fighting fires threatening to engulf forests and villages.

Just imagine — over 30 hours of helicopter flights, a ton of water dropped on blazing fires, dozens of work machines tirelessly clearing and extinguishing. All to save what we all cherish — our homes and nature. Despite tough conditions, no one gave up. This isn’t just a story about firefighting; it’s a story about courage, unity, and responsibility.

Of course, the army won’t stop here. They’re ready to continue their engagement in the future because nature doesn’t pick a time for disasters. And us? We can only thank them and maybe, just maybe, ask ourselves how ready we are to help preserve our country.

If you have a story from the field or have seen the army helping in your area, drop a comment below. Or just say — who else can brag about such heroes? Just remember, behind every such action are people with hearts, not just uniforms.
