Serbian Army and Vidovdan in Kruševac: Blue Uniforms, Horses, and Anthem Under the Open Sky

Serbian Army and Vidovdan in Kruševac: Blue Uniforms, Horses, and Anthem Under the Open Sky!

This year, Vidovdan in Kruševac was not just another holiday. The Serbian Army showed what a real military parade looks like! The representative orchestra of the Guard, led by Lieutenant Darko Stoićević, kicked off the parade with the powerful “March on the Drina.” The crowd applauded as the blue guard uniforms shone brightly under the sun.

But wait, there’s more! The cavalry unit, led by Captain Mitro Petrović, paraded down Vidovdan Street, perfectly synchronized and well-rehearsed. A true feast for the eyes and ears! The youngest spectators especially loved watching the official dogs from the Training Center, who marched with their handlers through the Kosovo Heroes’ Square, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

To the sounds of the infantry march, the Guard performed a drill under the command of Lieutenant Đorđe Pešić. The “blue machine” demonstrated its power — an attractive choreography, skill, and harmony of movements, all rewarded with thunderous applause.

High-ranking officials attended the event: Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilović, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, Commander of the Guard Brigadier General Željko Furundžić, and the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović. The event was a tribute to the Kosovo Heroes and tradition.

Vidovdan in Kruševac is not just a parade — it’s living history, pride, and tradition passed down through generations. Have you ever seen such a military show live? If not, get ready for next year — this is a spectacle you don’t want to miss!

And if you think the army is all about strictness and discipline, think again — here you have horses, dogs, music, and real military magic. Who knows, maybe this Vidovdan will inspire you to join or at least get to know our heroes in blue uniforms better. And if you have any funny stories from military parades, share them — the army isn’t just serious business, it can be fun too!
