Sergej Milinković Savić on Ending Cooperation with Coach Dragan Stojković Piksi

Sergej Milinković-Savić spoke out for the first time after being excluded from the Serbian national football team plans by coach Dragan Stojković Piksi. Milinković-Savić confirmed he will not receive call-ups while Piksi is the coach, stating he lacks the desire and energy to convince anyone to play for the national team. Piksi explained the issue arose due to the player’s psychological readiness and disagreements during the European Championship. Rade Bogdanović offered a different version, claiming Milinković-Savić was not honest about his reasons for not playing. Nevertheless, Sergej showed he follows the national team and congratulated Aleksandar Mitrović on his goal milestone. It remains uncertain if Milinković-Savić and Mitrović will play together again for Serbia.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets tend to emphasize the psychological and personal challenges faced by Milinković-Savić, highlighting the human aspect of the conflict and questioning the management style of coach Piksi. They may also focus on the potential loss for the national team due to this exclusion.

Center: Centrist sources report the facts of the situation neutrally, presenting statements from both Milinković-Savić and coach Piksi without taking sides. They focus on the timeline of events and the official explanations given by both parties.

Right: Right-leaning media often stress the authority of the coach and the importance of discipline and team cohesion. They may portray Milinković-Savić’s exclusion as justified due to his alleged lack of professionalism or honesty, supporting the coach’s decisions.
