The Sharks have once again suffered a painful defeat at the hands of Spain in the quarterfinals of the World Water Polo Championship in Singapore. Just like last year in Doha, Montenegro failed to break through the wall of the Fury, who dominated from start to finish. The Spaniards had already built a huge lead in the first half, leading 8-4, while our guys struggled to find the net. Despite showing fighting spirit and scoring some brilliant goals, like Đuro Radović’s long-range strike, it wasn’t enough to threaten Spain’s superiority.
Spain capitalized on every opportunity, including penalties, to extend their lead, while our players often missed key chances, including a penalty that didn’t result in a goal. In the end, the Fury deservedly won and booked their spot in the semifinals, leaving the Sharks to ponder yet another missed dream.
This loss highlights that Montenegro, although traditionally strong in water polo, has a serious problem with Spain in major tournaments. Will they ever break through this wall, or will we keep watching the same struggles and defeats? Fans are furious, and coach Dejan Savić has a lot of work ahead to prepare the team for the future.
If you thought this was the end, think again — water polo is a game of endurance and passion, and the Sharks will surely come back stronger. But until then, we can only ask: how many more times will we watch the Fury beat us? Got your own take? Drop it in the comments — maybe your rant will be the spark for change!
