Scorching Heatwave in South Korea: Heatstroke Epidemic Hits Hard!
South Korea is literally melting under record-breaking heat! In just the first ten days of July, over 1,200 people sought emergency medical help due to illnesses caused by extreme heat. Yes, you read that right – one thousand two hundred! And sadly, seven people have died, likely from heatstroke.
On July 8th, Seoul recorded a blistering 37.7 degrees Celsius – the highest temperature ever recorded at the start of July! Health officials are in full panic mode as the number of patients suffering from symptoms like exhaustion, dizziness, and heat-induced collapse has never been higher.
According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), from May 15th to July 8th, over 1,000 heat-related illness cases were registered, a massive jump compared to the same period last year.
This isn’t just a number – it’s a global alarm bell! Every year, hundreds of people in South Korea die from heat-related illnesses. Authorities urge citizens to avoid going outside during the hottest parts of the day, stay hydrated, and pay special attention to the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.
Is this just the beginning? Climate change doesn’t ask for permission, and we’re melting like snow on the sun. If you think this is far from you, think again.
