June in Serbia brought a real economic drama for citizens’ wallets! Food prices jumped by a staggering 10.3%, with salads soaring an unbelievable 12.5%, ready meals up 11.4%, and alcoholic drinks hiking by 11.8%! Non-alcoholic drinks weren’t far behind with an 11.4% increase. Bread, the staple of life, also got hit with a 10% price hike. In Vojvodina, the situation is a bit milder but still worrying: food prices rose by 7.6%, and alcoholic drinks by the same percentage. The smallest increase was in overnight stays, with 1.6% at the national level and 5% in Vojvodina. Hotel and restaurant services in Vojvodina went up by 7.2%, less than the national average.
